This painting explores the ideas of acceptance and self-care. The cool blue of the painting is counterbalanced by a hot neon pink that is both unexpected and beautiful. Sometimes in life, surprises, hardships, accidents can bring about the most beauty for us and for others. That does not remove the pain experienced, of course. The hardship I have experienced has many times felt like the loud pink of this painting, interrupting an otherwise cool, calm way of being. With the right touch that interruption can beautifully play in counterpoint with the cool blues of life and eventually bring about an abundance of joy.
