I long to return to the Sierra Nevadas where the epic landscape kisses the brightened night sky. This painting captures that longing. The dragon head in the sky came out completely by accident while I was painting this. Instead of calling this a happy accident (I am not Bob Ross), I am calling it a stroke of serendipity.

This piece is a sequel to my earlier celestial piece, “Winter’s Night.”

“Dragon Sky” was created on a 1.5” thick stretched canvas, with the painting continuing around the edges of the canvas.
