The dramatic slopes of Mammoth Mountain. I remember on this morning how the unbearable cold of the Sierras was swept away instantly in a flurry of white-hot light as the sun rose. God’s sustaining hand at work, creating a new day. (I named this painting after Gandalf’s beautifully said line from “The Return of the King.”)
