I’ve only hiked at night a couple of times, but it is always a surreal experience. The vast quiet, the moonlight flickering on an alpine lake, the mountains looming overhead like clandestine fortresses - it is a tranquil, haunting type of beauty. I heard a pastor say once that God stays up all night while we are sleeping, crafting the next day for us in love. Sometimes, in the night, it’s as if you can almost hear the Master Artist at work, His chisel and hammer strikes echoing throughout the halls of eternity.
